Twyver Switchgear are looking for a Junior Contracts Engineer to join the team! This role is designed for someone looking to start their career in electrical engineering and project management. The Junior Contracts Engineer will support the delivery of projects while completing a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) Apprenticeship. You’ll be involved in projects from initial quotation and design through to completion, working alongside experienced contracts engineers and gaining practical, real-world experience while completing structured college learning.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting senior and contracts engineers with the administration and delivery of projects.
- Assisting with quotations, cost breakdowns, and commercial documentation.
- Learning how project costs, variations, and invoicing are managed.
- Learn and assist with design of switchgear using software such as AutoCAD.
- Supporting procurement activities, including liaising with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assisting with the maintenance of accurate contract and project documents.
- Attending site visits and meetings to build practical understanding.
- Supporting customer communication under supervision.
- Learning and promoting Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
- Supporting incident reporting, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities will increase progressively as your skills and confidence develop.
Apprenticeship:
You will complete the Engineering Manufacturing Technician (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) Apprenticeship – Level 4, which combines:
- College-based learning (day release).
- Practical, workplace-based training.
- Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced engineers.
- Development of technical, commercial, and professional competence.
