Key Responsibilities – Busbar Fabrication & Assembly

  • Measure, cut, bend, punch and assemble busbars for low‑ and medium‑voltage switchgear.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematics and work instructions to produce accurate, high‑quality assemblies.
  • Operate fabrication machinery (cutters, punches, benders) and hand tools, ensuring safe and efficient working practices.
  • Form busbars to precise dimensions, tolerances and technical specifications.
  • Install insulation, fixings and supports to meet all electrical and mechanical safety standards.
  • Collaborate closely with design engineers, panel builders and quality teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Support quality checks, compliance activities and assist with inspection, testing and commissioning where required.
  • Maintain excellent health & safety and environmental practices throughout all work.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in busbar fabrication, panel building or similar industrial electrical assembly.
  • Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and layout diagrams.
  • Skilled in workshop tools and machinery: cutting, punching, bending, drilling, tapping and general assembly.
  • Understanding of electrical safety, insulation methods and busbar system requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing safe, reliable and high‑quality work.
  • Good communicator and team player, able to collaborate effectively and follow structured processes.

Desirable Skills – Switchgear & Electrical Fabrication

  • Apprenticeship or recognised qualification in electrical engineering, fabrication or a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of current industry standards for switchgear, busbar systems and power distribution panels.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean manufacturing initiatives.
