Overview
Level 3 Engineering Fitter Apprenticeship is a 4-year course:
- Year 1: During year 1 all apprentices will attend college full time at Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET). We combine academic training and vocational training with ‘on-the-job’ experience as required to meet the standards of the apprenticeship.
- Year 2: The academic qualifications throughout Year 2 will be gained via block or day release to attend college. You may occasionally also be asked to stay away from home for certain periods of time, to ensure that site work is undertaken and executed as per the required scope of works. Site work can be a great way to further develop your understanding of the intended applications for our equipment and is considered one of the most important aspects of our business in order to develop our people.
- Year 3: Progression to Year 3 will be typically when the level 2 (or equivalent) components of the training programme have been successfully completed.
- Year 4: During Year 4, apprentices will be required to complete an End Point Assessment (EPA) via an assessment of the apprentices Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours. The EPA taken will depend on the occupation of the apprenticeship programme and must be approved by the JIB as part of the apprenticeship qualification structure.
