Responsibilities

  • Carry out day‑to‑day development of designs throughout the design process.
  • Prepare design documentation and develop designs to satisfy technical specifications.
  • Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate designs.
  • Contribute to design reviews and prepare technical specifications.
  • Prepare risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures.
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines in the project design team.
  • Manage and provide guidance to Graduates, Apprentices and Designers as required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
  • Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Structural Steel connections and connection types.
  • Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and be a strong team player.
  • Desirable: experience in Nuclear or other highly regulated industrial environments.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
  • Experience of supervision.
