Responsibilities
- Design BMS control panels using AutoCAD / electrical CAD tools
- Create schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts to industry standards
- Produce accurate estimates and bills of materials, including labour and components
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement to define scope and mitigate risks
- Liaise with suppliers to source components, pricing, and lead times
- Prepare complete build packs for the workshop (drawings, BOMs, instructions)
- Support manufacturing with technical queries and test requirements
- Identify opportunities to standardise designs, reduce costs, and improve efficiency
- Attend site visits and client meetings when needed
Qualifications
Essential:
- Experience in control panel or BMS design AND/OR estimating
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, control systems, PLC I/O
- Experience using AutoCAD or similar electrical CAD software
- Ability to produce accurate costings and technical documentation
- Organised and able to manage multiple projects/quotes at once
Desirable:
- Experience with EPLAN or similar panel design software
- Background in automation, controls, or building management systems
- Knowledge of electrical standards and panel compliance
- Supplier engagement / procurement experience
