Accounts Payable Assistant
Reporting to:

Head Office, Belfast
Purpose of the Position:
The Accounts Payable Assistant is responsible for providing comprehensive accounts and administration support to the Finance and HR teams within Omexom.
The position involves interfacing regularly with the Finance team and working directly with Business Unit teams to ensure the optimal delivery of accounting services.
The jobholder will contribute to the continuous development of the role to reflect changing business needs through flexibility, adaptability, and determination to achieve performance objectives and KPIs.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Including but not limited to:
- Managing the Purchase Ledger function
- Ensuring all AP Invoices are matched within acceptable timeframes
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve queries
- Processing weekly BACS payment runs (and providing backup cover)
- Processing manual payments when required
- Using IT systems efficiently for document control between Omexom, Suppliers, and Internal Customers

Qualifications and Experience
The jobholder must be results-focused, self-motivated, and possess:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C or equivalent
- At least two years\’ experience in finance administration
- Experience building and maintaining credible relationships at all levels
- Excellent IT skills, especially with Microsoft Office
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize workload effectively
- Initiative to develop new approaches and improve systems
- Good decision-making skills with minimal supervision
