Purpose of Role
We are seeking a Gas Responsible Person to join our team on a prestigious defence contract based on site at RAF Brize Norton.
Job Description
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer looking to progress into a management role, overseeing the work of engineers and ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate a team of engineers, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of gas systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all gas-related matters, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations.
- Perform regular inspections and audits of gas installations to ensure compliance and safety.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping and documentation for all gas systems in line with health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with other departments and contractors to maintain seamless operation on-site.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing training and development opportunities.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop action plans to mitigate potential hazards.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Gas Engineer, with a strong understanding of gas systems.
- Familiarity with relevant gas safety standards and regulations.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks.
- Must be eligible for security vetting, which will be conducted prior to employment.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous experience in a defence or similar high-security environment.
- Gas Safe registered.
- Relevant management or leadership qualifications.
