Purpose of Role
We are seeking an experienced Authorised Person (AP) with an electrical bias to join our Defence Team.
Job Description
You will be responsible for the safe operation, control, and maintenance of electrical systems on high-security defence sites, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, JSP standards, and Vinci procedures.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Authorised Person (Electrical) in accordance with relevant JSPs, HSGs, and site‑specific rules
- Ensure safe systems of work for electrical operations, including issuing and controlling permits
- Manage and monitor high and low voltage electrical systems
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to Skilled Persons and Competent Persons
- Carry out risk assessments, method statement reviews, and technical audits
- Liaise with clients, site teams, and subcontractors to ensure compliance and continuity of service
- Support planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Participate in emergency response and out-of‑hours call‑out as required
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Fully qualified Authorised Person (Electrical)
- Strong electrical bias with relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Proven experience working in Defence, MOD, or other highly regulated environments
- In‑depth knowledge of electrical safety rules and compliance standards
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance
- Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
