Purpose of Role
PowerTest is looking for a skilled Remedial Electrician to join our operational team, delivering practical, hands‑on electrical solutions across commercial and industrial sites.
Job Description
On any given day, you could be fixing faults identified in EICRs, tackling complex installation challenges, or supporting testing engineers to ensure systems are safe and compliant. The role includes limited residential work, but the focus is on commercial and industrial environments where your expertise will make a real impact. The ideal candidate will have strong installation experience and some exposure to electrical testing, with a genuine interest in developing their testing skills. We’ll support the right individual in completing the City & Guilds 2391‑52 (Inspection & Testing) qualification, providing a clear path to broaden your compliance and testing capabilities while staying hands‑on.
Responsibilities
- Remedial works following EICRs and defect reports
- Commercial & industrial installation and repairs
- Fault‑finding and corrective maintenance
- Supporting electrical testing activities
- Completing certification and documentation accurately
- Ensuring compliance with BS7671 and company standards
- Liaising professionally with clients and site contacts
Essential Qualifications / Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
- AM2 and 18th Edition (BS7671)
- Proven experience in remedial electrical installation work
- Some experience or exposure to inspection and testing
- Full UK driving licence
