Purpose of Role
We are recruiting for a Mobile Maintenance Electrician to support our Avanti West Coast contract in Birmingham, Coventry & Rugby.
Job Description
You will provide planned, preventative, and responsive maintenance across various train stations, rail-related offices, and platform buildings. This role requires a multiskilled approach, combining electrical expertise with wider building maintenance capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Undertake electrical maintenance, repairs, and compliance work, including fault finding, emergency lighting tests, fuse board inspections, PAT testing, rewiring, and repairs to sockets and switches.
- Carry out general building maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, painting, and minor fabrication work.
- Support planned preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all facilities remain in excellent condition.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and resolve issues efficiently to minimise service disruption.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance checks.
- Drive and operate a company vehicle responsibly while travelling between sites.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
- Proven commercial electrical experience.
- 18th Edition & NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- Experience in wider building maintenance (multi‑skilled preferred).
- Strong multi‑skilled fault‑finding and repair skills.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to undergo the process).
- Full UK Driver’s License (no more than 6 points, no drink‑driving offences).
