Purpose of Role

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to lead the building maintenance team on the TFL commercial development contract across London.

Job Description

This is a hands-on supervisory role, responsible for overseeing a team of 4–6 multi-discipline engineers while also carrying out your own PPM and reactive duties across mechanical and plumbing systems. You will support the Technical Engineering Manager to ensure the effective delivery of planned and reactive maintenance, meeting contractual SLA’s and maintaining compliance with industry standards such as SFG20.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with strong technical skills who can balance team supervision with delivering maintenance tasks. You’ll engage with engineers daily, ensure quality and compliance, assist with quotations for management, and provide a seamless customer service experience to the client.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of maintenance engineers.
  • Deliver your own PPM and reactive maintenance works (mechanical and plumbing).
  • Plan and oversee the PPM/Reactive maintenance programme.
  • Support compliance with contractual SLA’s and statutory requirements.
  • Engage with the client and support quotation processes for remedial works.
  • Ensure health & safety compliance across all maintenance activities.

Essential Qualifications/Skills

  • Proven experience supervising or leading a maintenance team.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building services (mechanical and plumbing).
  • Relevant mechanical /plumbing qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds).
  • Good understanding of SFG20 and planned maintenance standards.
  • Customer-focused, with the ability to deliver high standards under pressure.
