Purpose of Role

Join our team as a Technical Facilities Manager on a key Defence contract at our secure High Wycombe site.

Job Description

In this role, you will lead the delivery of hard FM services across a technically complex site, managing the full PPM and reactive maintenance programme and overseeing the performance of a team of six shift engineers. You’ll ensure operational excellence, compliance, and seamless service across all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and air-conditioning systems. With the site’s high technical demands, a strong electrical background is essential, and you will be required to hold — or work towards — AP Electrical status while managing the contract.

Security Requirements:

Due to the sensitivity of the site, candidates must be UK sole nationals and able to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) clearance. You may start after gaining SC (Security Check) clearance, but will be shadowed on‑site for approximately six months until DV clearance is approved.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver the PPM and reactive maintenance programme, ensuring high performance across all engineering activities
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of six shift engineers, ensuring strong operational output and technical standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all site stakeholders and maintain an excellent client relationship
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory obligations, health & safety, SFG20, and quality standards
  • Conduct regular site audits and maintain an effective assurance and compliance regime
  • Oversee and monitor additional small works and subcontractor performance
  • Support FM reporting, operational planning, and performance tracking against KPIs & SLAs

Essential Qualifications/Skills

  • A relevant technical qualification is essential — ideally electrical — as AP Electrical responsibilities form part of the role
  • Proven track record delivering PPM/reactive programmes and managing KPIs and SLAs
  • Experience managing multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, ideally within a technical or critical environment
  • Strong understanding of SFG20, CDM, statutory compliance, and HSE requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • IOSH (or equivalent) certification required

In return for your hard work we offer additional training and development, 26 days holiday (+ bank holidays), generous pension contribution, life assurance and much more.
