Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours - Monday to Friday
We are seeking a reliable and practical Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operation of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
The successful candidate will carry out basic building maintenance and repairs, helping to ensure a safe, compliant, and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is based within Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, so a strong focus on safety, cleanliness, and professionalism is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine and reactive basic building maintenance and repairs
- Basic plumbing repairs (e.g. leaks, taps, toilets)
- Simple electrical tasks (e.g. replacing lamps, switches β within competency)
- Carpentry and fabric repairs (doors, locks, fixtures, fittings)
- Painting and minor decorating
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and faults
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks as required
- Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety and infection control procedures
- Accurately complete job reports and documentation
- Liaise with site staff, contractors, and supervisors as needed
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe condition
Essential Qualifications/Skills:
- Good all-round knowledge of building maintenance tasks
- Ability to work independently and manage own workload
- Strong awareness of health & safety requirements
- Professional, courteous manner suitable for a healthcare environment
