Actemium ICs are looking for a Trainee Applications Engineer to join the team! This role is designed for someone looking to start their career in electrical engineering and project management. The Trainee Applications Engineer will support the delivery of projects while completing a Level 4 Engineering Manufacturing Technician (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) Apprenticeship. At Actemium Instrumentation, Control & Switchgear (part of VINCI Energies), you’ll be joining a business at the forefront of industrial innovation—delivering cutting‑edge power systems, control panels, switchgear and containerised solutions, such as eHouses, to industries across the UK and the rest of the world. Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of projects from enquiry through to completion.
- Assist engineers with the delivery of live projects.
- Assist with quotations, costings, and project documentation.
- Learn how commercial elements like costs, variations, and invoicing are managed.
- Assist with design work using software such as AutoCAD and SEE Electrical.
- Support procurement and work with suppliers.
- Maintain accurate project and contract records.
- Attend site visits to see how your work comes to life.
- Communicate with customers as your confidence grows.
- Learn how to work safely and follow industry‑leading SHEQ standards.
Responsibilities will increase progressively as your skills and confidence develop.
Apprenticeship
You will complete the Engineering Manufacturing Technician (Electrical & Electronic Engineering) Apprenticeship – Level 4, which combines:
- College‑based learning (day release).
- Practical, workplace based training.
- Ongoing mentoring and support from experienced engineers.
- Development of technical, commercial, and professional competence.
