The Role - SHEQ Manager
We are looking for a motivated and passionate SHEQ Manager to support the ongoing development and improvement of our SHEQ management systems and culture. Working closely with project and engineering teams—and supported by the Head of SHEQ—you will help embed compliance, share best practice, and champion safe and sustainable operations across our business. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve SHEQ management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) across live projects and operational environments.
- Plan, conduct, and report on internal and external Quality and Environmental audits, ensuring full alignment with ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 standards.
- Produce Board‑level reporting on incidents, NCRs, audits, trends, corrective actions, and compliance updates.
- Support project teams to ensure SHEQ compliance at every stage of project delivery.
- Conduct site inspections and audits, produce detailed reports, and drive follow‑up actions.
- Lead incident investigations, capturing root causes and promoting proactive risk management.
- Review and update SHEQ documentation including RAMS, quality plans, and environmental plans.
- Promote a strong safety culture and share best practice across the organisation.
- Deliver and document SHEQ training, communications, and toolbox talks.
- Maintain accurate SHEQ records, certifications, and training matrices.
- Assist with CDM compliance, COSHH assessments, and site‑based risk documentation.
- Keep up to date with industry best practice and legislation.
Working Environment
This is a varied role involving office work, workshop environments, and live industrial sites. PPE will be provided, and strict safety protocols must be followed. You’ll work closely with wider project teams and stakeholders across the business.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
- NEBOSH Certificate and Tech IOSH.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a SHEQ role.
- Strong working knowledge of SHEQ legislation, systems, and best practice.
- Proven experience conducting Quality and/or Environmental audits (ISO 9001 & 14001).
- Confident IT skills (Word, Excel, email).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- IEMA or CQI membership.
- Experience leading ISO 9001 or ISO 14001 audit programmes.
- NEBOSH Diploma and/or further SHEQ qualifications.
- A degree in a relevant discipline.
