To meet an increasing workload and support the development and growth of our company, Kelvin Power has a permanent position for an experienced Civil and Structural Engineering Manager to lead the Civil and Structural Engineering team. Kelvin Power provides a wide range of engineering consultancy services on major infrastructure projects in the Energy Sector and has a strong team of experienced multi-disciplinary engineers and technicians delivering solutions to projects across the UK and ROI.
Responsibilities
- Management development and mentoring of engineering team
- Resource management and forecasting
- Delivering technically demanding projects, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery
- Managing project scope, change control, and identifying scope variations
- Producing and checking calculations and drawings for civil and structural engineering works associated with complex large scale substation projects including earthworks, roads and drainage, plant structures, steel framed and masonry buildings, foundations and water retaining structures
- Producing conceptual and detailed substation design in accordance with customer specifications
- Meeting project requirements in collaboration with other disciplines
- Reviewing project files for compliance with standards/protocols and implementing best practice procedures
- Liaising with sub-contractors, raising purchase orders, etc.
- Attending site visits and client meetings in the UK and Europe
Key Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 8 years post-graduate experience
- Qualified Chartered Engineer (CEng) with MICE or MIStructE (applicants near completion of application will also be considered)
- Experience of design and analysis software using ROBOT/TEDDS/Civil 3D/Windes Microdrainage / Infodrainage
- Experience of industrial and infrastructure projects
- Excellent organisational skills
- Knowledge of industry standards and ability to produce construction standard drawings using AutoCAD/Revit/Civil 3D
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
