Actemium Automation Nottingham, part of the global VINCI Energies network, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of a strategic client account based in Slough.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute and technically capable project leader with a strong background in industrial automation, control systems and site-based project delivery.

You will oversee a portfolio of high-value projects, develop trusted client relationships, and play a key role in delivering both operational excellence and sustainable business growth.

As a senior member of the leadership team, you will also contribute to the wider business strategy, helping to shape the long-term direction and success of the Business Unit.

The Role

As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for the safe, profitable and successful delivery of multiple automation and control projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with the Client Account Manager and key stakeholders, you will be the primary project management contact for the client, driving performance across all aspects of project execution while maintaining strong commercial control and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of industrial automation and control projects across the Slough account.
  • Act as the principal project management interface for the client, building strong and collaborative relationships.
  • Support the Client Account Manager in delivering account objectives and identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams including engineering, design, procurement, commissioning and subcontractors.
  • Drive project governance, including planning, forecasting, reporting, risk management, quality management and change control.
  • Manage project budgets, cost control, invoicing, forecasting and commercial claims to maximise profitability and cash flow.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and effective management of project risks and opportunities.
  • Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental performance.
  • Coordinate FAT, SAT and commissioning activities through to successful handover and project close-out.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives and drive best practice across project delivery activities.
  • Mentor and support the development of project management and engineering colleagues.
  • Contribute to the Business Unit's strategic planning and long-term growth objectives as a member of the senior leadership team.

About You

Essential

  • Proven experience delivering medium to large-scale industrial automation, process control or electrical control system projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management, forecasting, contractual change management and claims management.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good understanding of PLC, SCADA, HMI, instrumentation and industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with project planning, governance, risk management and quality processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
  • Engineering or project management qualification (HNC, HND, Degree or equivalent).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to undertake regular travel to Slough and customer sites.

Desirable

  • APMP, PRINCE2, PMP or similar project management accreditation.
  • Experience within Actemium, VINCI Energies or a comparable industrial automation environment.
  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation platforms and technologies.
  • Experience leading FAT, SAT and commissioning activities.
  • Understanding of industrial safety standards, asset management and regulated manufacturing environments.
