Role Purpose: Drive profitable growth in the UK specialist concrete repair and structural strengthening market. Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify and secure new opportunities, and protect profitability through effective commercial input. Ensure alignment between market needs, client strategy, and internal bid/delivery teams, creating a sustainable pipeline that supports Freyssinet’s long-term objectives.

Accountabilities:

  • Client Development & Account Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with asset owners, consultants, and main contractors. Secure repeat business through client care and long-term account management. Position Freyssinet as the partner of choice for specialist structural repairs and strengthening.
  • Market & Sector Strategy: Analyse regional and national markets to identify accessible opportunities. Prioritise target sectors (transport infrastructure, water, energy, industrial/commercial). Produce and update a structured Business Development Plan with clear growth strategies.
  • Pipeline & Opportunity Management: Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline (new and repeat business). Lead initial bid/no-bid assessments, ensuring alignment with client needs and company strategy. Identify risks and opportunities early and shape bid strategies with Preconstruction.
  • Commercial & Negotiation Input: Influence pricing and contract strategy to maximise margins. Contribute to negotiations with clients and main contractors.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work closely with Preconstruction, Estimating, and Operations to ensure seamless handover of won opportunities. Ensure scope clarity and prevent scope drift during tender stages. Support product development by feeding market insights back to the group.
  • Leadership & Reporting: Lead and coach regional Business Development staff and Precon Admin support team. Manage Salesforce data accuracy for tracking and reporting. Provide monthly and annual updates on BD performance, pipeline, and forecasts.

Qualifications: Proven success in business development within structural repairs, specialist contracting, or related sectors (essential). Strong network of industry contacts (asset owners, consultants, contractors). Experience in bid management, business development and opportunity qualification (preferably in construction). Commercial awareness and proven negotiation and client relationship management skills. Technical understanding of concrete repair and strengthening solutions (advantageous). Degree in Civil Engineering or construction discipline (preferred). Autonomy, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced multicultural environment.
