Position: Lead EC&I Engineer

Reference: 2560

Location: Birchwood Park, Warrington

Arrangement: Permanent or Contract

Work arrangement: Hybrid, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.

The Role

The candidate will be responsible to lead the CE&I electrical systems design for SIXEP Cooling Towers and Other Local Projects. The role will involve the production and checking of engineering deliverables to support design development through concept and preliminary phases, and into detail design, and assistance during installation and commissioning borne design queries. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to all aspects of CE&I engineering. The role requires knowledge and experience in project delivery with experience of optioneering, front‑end design and detail design.

Specific responsibilities are:

  • Lead and take responsibility for the delivery of the design aspects of the projects.
  • Working with a small integrated design team in the delivery of design packages against milestones.
  • Contribute to the production of multi‑discipline design documentation such as, but not limited to: Project Requirement Documents, Basis of Design, Project Verification Plans, Quality Plans, Design Justification Report.
  • Determine project requirements independently.
  • Review / checking of design document and CE&I deliverables from a senior CE&I designer.
  • Ability to estimate hours for scope changes or additional works along with outlining supporting schedule for the discipline.
  • Support and contribute to the delivery of Design Reviews.
  • Produce Reports and documentation to comply with CDM.

This role requires interface with Integrated Design Team, facility team (including systems engineering), other project functions and must work closely throughout project phases.

  • Machinery Safety and UKCA Marking Process
  • Instrumentation Design
  • Electrical Power and Services Design at LV
  • Understanding and application of the required deliverables and design process for each of the CE&I areas
  • Delivery within the SL Management System
  • Estimate & schedule production and progress reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is essential
