VINCI Building is excited to offer an opportunity for a Social Value Manager to join our team to cover a 12-month maternity leave across our North West Business Unit, with the opportunity to progress into a longer-term, site-based Social Value Manager role as future projects move into delivery. This role will suit someone who wants variety in the first year, strong exposure to both pre-construction and delivery, and the opportunity to develop into a long-term project role.
The role involves managing social value across a portfolio of projects in the North West, primarily focused on town centre regeneration, education and local authority works. You’ll work closely with project teams, local partners and the supply chain to deliver meaningful, measurable social value aligned to client priorities and community needs. You’ll support social value input into bids and pre-construction activity, working with bid and project teams to shape proportionate, deliverable social value responses. You’ll also line-manage an existing Social Value Coordinator in the region, providing direction, support and oversight to ensure effective delivery across projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop, deliver and present project-specific Social Value Plans aligned to client requirements, community needs and KPIs
- Work with project and bid teams to embed social value from early planning through to delivery
- Build strong relationships with local authorities, education providers, community organisations and delivery partners
- Develop and manage the delivery of social value activity linked to employment, skills, education and community benefit
- Provide oversight, direction and support to the Social Value Coordinator to ensure consistent and effective delivery
- Engage project teams and supply chain partners to ensure shared ownership of social value outcomes
- Monitor, evidence and report social value delivery using internal and client reporting platforms
- Produce clear, accurate reporting and case studies that demonstrate impact and outcomes
- Work closely with senior leadership, raising risks and issues early and constructively
About you:
- Experience delivering social value, community or social impact programmes
- Experience working across multiple projects and stakeholder groups
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting
- Confident engaging with clients, local authorities, partners and delivery teams
- Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Able to evidence outcomes using robust reporting and data mechanisms
- Experience managing team members is beneficial
- Experience supporting bids, tenders or pre-construction activity is beneficial
- Construction or public-sector experience is useful, but not essential
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights
