Job Purpose / Overview
You will have the opportunity to shape the next generation of Nuclear Power Stations in the UK, developing the skills and experience required to prepare Hinkley Point C (HPC) for operations and hold a role in the future HPC operating organisation.
The prime focus of the role is leading a team, making sure the orders for plant spares are placed and delivered on time to meet the needs of HPCs commissioning and operations maintenance programmes.
You will work closely with and be able to build solid relationships with various departments across the HPC project including Pre-Operations, Commissioning, Commercial and Finance.
You will be supported and have access to the necessary training and technical documentation required to fulfil your role.
The role sits within the CommOps Supply Chain Team, which is part of the HPB CommOps Department Maintenance Programme.
The Maintenance Programme manages the programmes of work to execute the maintenance strategies for HPC now and in the future.
CommOps covers the management of all commissioning and operational activities for HPC
Principal Accountabilities
- Lead a team of approximately 8 people
- Plan the sequencing of the teams work to meet the programme needs
- Make sure orders are placed in time to align to the programme needs
- Take ownership and implement agreed purchasing strategies.
- Develop and own category input and initiatives into the budget process and forecasting Procurement cost savings initiatives within SAP (Reporting tool).
- Maintain communication with suppliers/ commercial team during procurement to ensure timely delivery while maintaining compliance as per the procurement documents.
- Actively manage the procurement process from order placement through receipt of products and subsequent payment of invoices.
- Work with various teams to ensure continuity of supply of Quality.
- Monitoring of purchase orders and undertaking all necessary steps to ensure compliance.
- Drive on-time delivery for all external purchases
- Prepare purchase requisition and purchase order using the purchasing system (AS9).
- Maintain accurate and organised purchasing document packs for auditing reasons.
- Assist in the follow up and provide information to requesters regarding ordering.
Profile
- Team leader experience
- Engineering, commercial or supply chain experience
- Undergraduate qualifications in engineering, commercial, supply chain or business.
- Strong attention to detail / Target driven.
- Aptitude with analytical tools.
- Ability to drive and resolve problems and issues with suppliers involving order placement and delivery
- Ability to build consensus and engagement with the key stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to demonstrate innovative solutions to complicated purchasing initiatives, in a fast moving and demanding environment.
- Proficient in Office 365 tools such as Excel, Word etc
- Comfortable following process with a healthy questioning attitude.
