Actemium Instrumentation, Control and Switchgear are looking for a Test Engineer to join our team in Staverton, Gloucester. Working closely with manufacturing and engineering disciplines you will be required to ensure all LV Switchgear and Control Panels are functionally correct and manufactured to the project drawings and specifications.

Main Responsibilities
- The safe and timely execution of testing activities.
- To maintain safe working practices and always adhere to quality control procedures.
- Ensure all required documentation is completed correctly and on time.
- Ensure all manufactured products meet the relevant quality standards.
- Accurately read and interpret electrical drawings and instructions, both written and verbal (from the Production Manager and other team members), to assemble components and assist with production tasks as and when required.
- Carry out any remedial work and design modifications from any issues identified during testing.
- Maintain effective and regular communication between department members.
Key Competencies
- Familiarity with test equipment such as a dielectric tester, multi-meter, IR tester etc.
- The ability to effectively communicate using both verbal and written communication that delivers high levels of confidence in those dealt with.
- A good electrical technical background with experience of testing.
- The ability to think through and adopt a clear, sensible approach to planning, prioritising, and organising tasks and activities to meet deadlines and targets. Makes most efficient use of time and other resources.
- The ability to pragmatically solve problems using varied approaches and considering all relevant factors and options before making a decision/taking action.
- The ability to demonstrate energy, drive, commitment, and dedication to achieving both own and company success.
- Positive 'can do' attitude. With good attention to detail.
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites, diagnose and fix any issues.

The Person
- The ideal candidate should have an understanding of testing LV Distribution Boards, Switchboards, Control Panels and associated equipment.
- Have a NVQ level 3 in Electrical engineering or experience within the LV Switchgear industry.
- A qualified Electrician with a current ECS card.
- Have previous experience of fault finding and diagnosis.
- Hold a current ECS Health, Safety and Environmental Assessment is preferable.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
