Are you ready to bring your Quantity Surveying expertise to a company that values innovation, responsibility, and teamwork? At Actemium ICP, part of the global VINCI Energies network, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-driven Tendering and Estimating Engineer to help us deliver cutting-edge electrical infrastructure projects.
You’ll play a key role in preparing competitive tenders and cost estimates for new connections and infrastructure works, working alongside a collaborative team that shares your passion for precision and performance.
Job Duties:- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for LV, HV, and EHV electrical infrastructure projects.
- Analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
- Complete and maintain rate cards in line with company pricing structures and market trends.
- Draft and issue professional offer letters and tender submissions to clients.
- Liaise with internal departments (design, procurement, delivery) to gather necessary inputs for tendering.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitiveness and compliance.
- Support post-tender negotiations and handover to project delivery teams.
- Maintain a database of historical costs and tender outcomes to inform future bids.
- Apply Quantity Surveying principles to ensure commercial accuracy and risk mitigation.
- Proven experience in tendering and estimating within the utilities or construction sector, ideally with an ICP.
- Strong understanding of electrical infrastructure projects (LV/HV/EHV).
- Proficient in preparing rate cards and commercial offer letters.
- Quantity Surveying experience or qualifications (e.g., RICS, HNC/HND, or degree in QS or related field).
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and commercial skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software (e.g., Candy, Conquest, or similar).
- Experience working with DNOs or IDNOs.
- Knowledge of UK electricity regulations and standards (e.g., G81, ENA documents).
- Familiarity with NEC or JCT contract frameworks.
- Internal: Leadership Team, Client Team, Procurement Department, Estimating Team and HSEQ department.
