Health & Safety Advisor

VINCI Building have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to oversee multiple projects across the North West region.

Responsibilities

Developing and Implementing Health & Safety Policies

  • Ensuring the site teams follow health and safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
  • Advice and Guidance.

Site Inspections and Audits

  • Regularly inspecting construction sites to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and identify areas for improvement and rewarding innovation and best practice.
  • Assisting in investigating accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.

Compliance

  • Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.

Communication and Liaison

  • Working with site managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a positive health and safety culture.

Data Management

  • Maintaining accurate records of health and safety incidents and inspections.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in health and safety performance and implementing strategies to address them.

Strategic Planning

  • Contributing to the development of strategic plans for health and safety within the organization.
  • Compliance with HSE legislation and the VINCI health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Interface, communicate, liaise, and maintain effective relationships with HSE Management Team.
  • Produce reports and identify remedial action, ensuring effective implementation.
  • Ensure that contractors, employees, sub‑contractors, and suppliers all work in accordance with VINCI health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor housekeeping standards across the projects, identify and implement improvement activities.
  • Review and, where necessary, complete risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
  • Audit the permit to work process to ensure that standards are maintained.
  • Ensure that health and safety signage and guards are in place and maintained.
  • Monitor fire precautions to ensure compliance with VINCI/SFEL standards.
  • Ensure that all emergency procedures and requirements are in place and are effective.
  • Ensure that the CDM Regulations are applied where necessary to VINCI Standards.
  • Undertake periodic HSE inspections for compliance to VINCI and legal standards.
  • Support VINCI operational managers in the review of contractors RAMS.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will have a proven track record working for a UK main contractor overseeing Health & Safety across a range of building projects. Possessing a UK driving licence, you will cover a number of our projects across the North West region to support our sites to achieve faultless safety compliance.
