Overview

VINCI Building seek to appoint a Digital Engineering Manager who will bring their skills & expertise to support our business unit in creating digital representations of built assets from design through to construction delivery of projects.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the development of the divisional strategy, agree the implementation targets and timelines and actively assist in the deployment of Digital Engineering technologies, in conjunction with the Senior Management Team.
  • Produce and maintain a learning programme for the development of the Design Management Team’s skills in all aspects of Digital Engineering.
  • Monitor the implementation and application of the divisional BIM procedures, processes and plans.
  • Undertake quality assurance audits on third party involved, at regional level.
  • Manage Digital Engineering team on the project.
  • Fulfil information management responsibilities on the project.

Specific Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Lead Digital Engineer during BIM Kitemark accreditation.
  • Responsible for digital collaboration platform at regional level (BIMcollab).
  • Support Digital Engineers in their day to day job, providing training and guidance.
  • Produce standard BIM guidance documents and templates outlining the divisions approach, procedures and standards.
  • Promote the use of Digital Engineering technologies.
  • Provide up to‑date advice on all new Digital Engineering technologies and tools. Propose, develop and support potential business benefits that can be derived through the utilisation of current and future Digital Engineering technologies.
  • Support Pre‑construction team defining Project Digital strategy during tender stage.
  • Provide updates to the regional team to the divisional Digital Engineering procedures, processes and plans to align with any newly adopted Digital technologies and/or tools.
  • Manage and maintain, in conjunction with VINCI IT, the procurement and application of approved software.
  • Develop the competencies of Design and Construction Team in the application and use of all approved BIM software.
  • Develop the application and use of 4D and 5D BIM.
  • Establish and control the BIM Assessment data for all primary, secondary and specialist subcontract designers.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits on third party BIM and notify the project teams of all non‑compliances.
  • Provide periodic management reports on all projects utilising Digital Engineering technologies.
  • Assist, where appropriate, VCUK’s clients in the establishment and compilation of Employer’s Information Requirements that are aligned to their Facilities Management capabilities.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to the Design Management Team on:
    • the application, use and management of Building Information Models
    • the interpretation, development and compliance of Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR)
    • the extraction and compilation of Asset Data and production of COBie type spreadsheets
    • the preparation of project specific BIM Execution Plans and associated supporting documents
    • the implementation of clash detection reviews across multi‑discipline BIM models
  • Provide assistance and guidance to the Document Control / Information Management Team on the creation and management of project workflows and the storage of model files within the Common Data Environment.
  • Validate and approve AIM at delivery stage, provide also regular check during construction stage to ensure models maturity level.
  • Provide standard Digital Engineering training modules, including demonstration‑led training in the application and delivery of BIM industry standards (ISO19650‑1, ISO19650‑2, ISO19650‑3, BS 1192‑4:2014, ISO19650:5).
  • Support the Lead Digital Engineer to deliver training to Senior Management team.
  • Provide technical advice, where agreed, to client design, project and Facility Management teams on the determination, compilation and application of BIM asset data.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of:
    • ISO19650‑1, ISO19650‑2, ISO19650‑3, BS 1192‑4:2014, ISO19650:5.
    • IFC and other commonly used data exchange formats.
    • Viewpoint for Projects.
    • Autodesk (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manager).
    • Solibri Office.
    • Synchro.
    • BIMcollab (or similar collaboration platform)
