Are you ready to take on the pivotal role of embedding carbon‑conscious decision-making across the full lifecycle of major construction projects? VINCI Building is seeking a Carbon Manager to lead our efforts in reducing whole‑life carbon impacts and driving sustainable design and construction practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Whole Life Carbon Assessments and drive carbon reductions through materials, design, supply chain and operational energy analysis.
  • Advise project teams and clients on carbon reduction strategies across all project stages, ensuring alignment with key industry standards and methods (PAS 2080, RICS and UK NZCBS).
  • Produce clear, insightful reports and present findings with confidence to clients, stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Maintain rigorous documentation, support audits, and stay ahead of emerging tools, benchmarks and industry guidance.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Lead whole life carbon assessments using industry‑standard tools e.g., One Click LCA, excel‑based models.
  • Evaluate material choices, construction methods, and supply chain impacts to reduce embodied carbon emissions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to gather key data, align on assumptions and ensure inputs are validated and meaningful.
  • Advise on carbon reduction strategies across design, procurement, construction and asset management phases.
  • Present findings and recommendations to clients, stakeholders and design teams with clarity and impact.
  • Ensure alignment with PAS 2080, RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment, UK NZCBS and other relevant frameworks.
  • Stay ahead of emerging tools, benchmarks and methodologies in carbon management and lifecycle analysis.
  • Support team members and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and capability building.
  • Craft clear, consistent and impactful reports that translate complex carbon data into actionable strategies for clients and stakeholders.
  • Champion quality and traceability by maintaining meticulous documentation and version control across all assessments.
  • Support third‑party audits and validations, ensuring outputs meet – and exceed – industry standards like PAS 2080 and RICS guidance.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by tracking shifts in industry guidance and sharing insights across the team to elevate collective knowledge.
  • Represent the business externally, attending key conferences, webinars and industry events to stay informed and build our presence in the carbon community.
  • Contribute to broader environment and sustainability goals, supporting initiatives that align with our Environmental Ambition Roadmap.

  • Deliver accurate, consistent and timely whole life carbon assessments.
  • Provide insights that lead to measurable reductions in embodied and operational carbon across projects.
  • Achieve successful third‑party validations with minimal revisions, demonstrating compliance with relevant industry standards.
  • Maintain robust documentation and version control across all assessments, ensuring traceability and transparency.
  • Positive feedback from project teams and stakeholders.
  • Contribution to process improvements and training initiatives.
  • Value participation in industry learning and development opportunities.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or equivalent in environmental engineering, architecture, sustainability, building physics or construction management.
  • Proficiency in whole life carbon tools and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of carbon standards and frameworks including PAS 2080, RICS Whole Life Carbon Assessment, the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard and NHS Net Zero Building Standard.
  • Experience with lifecycle assessment (LCA) methodologies and embodied carbon modelling.
  • Familiarity with BIM integration for carbon data extraction and modelling workflows.
  • Knowledge of circular economy principles, material reuse strategies, and low‑carbon design within the built environment.
  • Experience influencing design decisions through carbon insights and lifecycle thinking.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams across design, commercial, production, engineering and sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong technical knowledge of whole life carbon assessment tools e.g., OneClick LCA or similar.
  • Familiarity with PAS 2080, Net Zero Carbon Building Standard, ISO 14064-1, and other carbon management frameworks.
  • Experience in construction or infrastructure projects, ideally in healthcare, education, life sciences, or commercial sectors.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and produce actionable insights for project teams.
