Job Title: Construction Manager

Location: London & North

Overview

VINCI Building are seeking to recruit a dynamic and dedicated Construction Manager to support the delivery of several high-profile projects across the London & North region in the healthcare and commercial sector.

Responsible for managing the construction on a section or overall project dependent on the scale and complexity of the works involved, you’ll work tirelessly to ensure that all works including those of suppliers and subcontractors are supervised and coordinated to deliver on safety, quality, and environmental objectives.

Key objectives:

  • Plan, organise, control and coordinate the site or section of the site to a successful and safe completion, exceeding client & stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure that works are coordinated to ensure suitable safe access and segregation is maintained.
  • Ensure all Risk Assessments, Task Safety Plans and Method Statements are issued and agreed prior to commencing works.
  • Develop day to day plans for site operations from project programme.

In addition, you’ll:

  • Manage resources (set up teams to complete work, ensure individuals are aware of what is expected of them)
  • Management of information (ensure that works are carried out in accordance with good practice and in line with all relevant specifications, drawings, method statements)
  • Production (ensuring materials, plant and sub-contractors are procured to meet targets)
  • Control costs, ensure appropriate Quality is achieved and ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with all VINCI Building HS&E legislation, and the site Health Safety and Environmental Plans.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in the public sector, ideally Healthcare with a main contractor on new build and refurbishment projects.
  • ‘Put safety first’ and instil this into the project team and suppliers.
  • Minimum relevant Level 4 qualification (HNC/NVQ4, etc.).
  • CSCS & SMSTS certification.
  • First Aid at Work certificate.
  • Valid driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Construction-related degree.
  • Working towards ICE or MCIOB.
