VINCI Building have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Advisor to oversee multiple projects across the Midlands region.
Responsible for ensuring health and safety standards are met, you’ll be responsible for developing policies, providing training, conducting risk assessments, and investigating incidents.
This role provides competent first line advice and support on health & safety matters to site, ensuring effective management of Health & Safety in respect of the VINCI standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and Implementing Health & Safety Policies:
- Creating and maintaining comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
Training and Education:
- Providing training to staff and contractors on health and safety procedures, hazards, and emergency protocols.
Risk Assessments:
- Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
- Site Inspections and Audits:
- Regularly inspecting construction sites to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
Incident Investigation:
- Investigating accidents and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Compliance:
- Ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and regulations.
- Communication and Liaison:
- Working with site managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to promote a positive health and safety culture.
Data Management:
- Maintaining accurate records of health and safety incidents, inspections, and training.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identifying areas for improvement in health and safety performance and implementing strategies to address them.
Strategic Planning:
- Contributing to the development of strategic plans for health and safety within the organization.
- Compliance with HSE legislation and the VINCI/SFEL health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Interface, communicate, liaise, and maintain effective relationships with SFEL HSE Management Team.
- Produce reports and identify remedial action, ensuring effective implementation.
- Ensure that Contractors employees, sub-contractors and suppliers all work in accordance with VINCI/SFEL health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Monitor housekeeping standards across the Contract, identify and implement improvement activities.
- Review and where necessary complete risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
- Audit the permit to work process to ensure that SFEL standards are maintained.
- Provide COSHH assessments where required and ensure effectiveness of supply chain documentation.
- Ensure that PPE is being used in accordance with VINCI/SFEL requirements.
- Ensure that health and safety signage and guards are in place and maintained.
- Monitor fire precautions to ensure compliance with VINCI/SFEL standards.
- Ensure that all emergency procedures and requirements are in place and are effective.
- Ensure that the CDM Regulations are applied where necessary to VINCI Standards.
- Undertake periodic HSE inspections for compliance to VINCI and legal standards.
- Support VINCI operational managers in the review of Contractors RAMS.
