This role will suit someone who wants variety in the first year, strong exposure to both pre-construction and delivery, and the opportunity to develop into a long-term project role.

The role involves managing social value across a portfolio of projects in the North West, primarily focused on town centre regeneration, education and local authority works. Key responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver and present project-specific Social Value Plans aligned to client requirements, community needs and KPIs
  • Work with project and bid teams to embed social value from early planning through to delivery
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, education providers, community organisations and delivery partners
  • Develop and manage the delivery of social value activity linked to employment, skills, education and community benefit
  • Provide oversight, direction and support to the Social Value Coordinator to ensure consistent and effective delivery
  • Engage project teams and supply chain partners to ensure shared ownership of social value outcomes
  • Monitor, evidence and report social value delivery using internal and client reporting platforms
  • Produce clear, accurate reporting and case studies that demonstrate impact and outcomes
  • Work closely with senior leadership, raising risks and issues early and constructively

About you:

  • Experience delivering social value, community or social impact programmes
  • Experience working across multiple projects and stakeholder groups
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence presenting
  • Confident engaging with clients, local authorities, partners and delivery teams
  • Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Able to evidence outcomes using robust reporting and data mechanisms
  • Experience managing team members is beneficial
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders or pre-construction activity is beneficial
  • Construction or public-sector experience is useful, but not essential
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into insights

Why join us:

  • A clear opportunity to progress from maternity cover into a longer-term project role
  • Exposure to a wide range of projects across the North West in the first year
  • The chance to shape and embed social value on complex, high-profile projects
  • Support from an established Social Value function with clear frameworks and senior backing
