You will have a proven background with a large UK Main Contractor, able to demonstrate leading commercial teams on a range of projects across healthcare, life science and commercial sectors.

VINCI Building have an opportunity for a driven individual with experience of managing all commercial aspects on mid to large scale construction projects. The Role: You will be responsible for a number of deliverables, supporting the region and wider teams on the commercial aspects of a diverse range of mid to large new build and refurbishment projects for a broad customer base, typically across our principal sector of healthcare, but also education, Life Sciences and commercial sectors.

  • Anticipate and plan change in commercial resource within a project or projects to meet changing demands.
  • Support and react positively to organisational change.
  • Tendering and Pre-contract activities, providing commercial support to the tendering & work winning process, and preparing commercial reports as necessary.
  • Start-up of new Projects, actively participate in the implementation of project commercial start up procedures.
  • Procurement, ensuring that materials and off-site services are procured in an efficient manner with capable organisations in accordance with VINCI Building procurement policy.
  • Ensure the delivery of subcontract procurement in accordance with the procurement schedule timetable and the VINCI Building procurement policy.
  • Carry out gap analysis between packages to ensure full and complete subcontract procurement takes place.
  • Ensure inclusive invitations to tender are prepared and full tender evaluations are completed then make recommendations to award in accordance with the VINCI Building procurement process.
  • Work with supply chain to promote and measure continuous improvement in terms of cost, quality and learning of all parties.
  • Applications for payment and invoicing, maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
  • Manage prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations, claims and disputes.
  • Cost Control, identify, manage, reduce and drive out unnecessary costs and inefficient activities, monitoring subcontract costs to ensure that the project meets and/or exceeds targets.
  • Accounting and reporting, produce accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts and contribute towards the setting of financial targets.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management, identify early project risks and opportunities and ensure that they are managed.

The Person: Holds the relevant qualification (e.g., Degree in Quantity Surveying). You have demonstrable experience within a large UK Main Contractor on a range of projects, principally Healthcare new build and refurbishment projects, managing all commercial aspects on mid to large construction projects turning over in excess of £10m per annum. Strong knowledge of NEC forms of contract.
