An established, well-respected M&E Contractor in the West Midlands is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Mechanical HVAC Estimator to join their team. As the successful Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for projects across a wide range of sectors including healthcare, education, MOJ and MOD. You will work closely with the sales team, project managers, and clients to develop detailed estimates and proposals that meet the specific needs of each project. Projects will range in value from circa £100k up to £10m.
Key Responsibilities- Review project plans, specifications, and other project documents to determine scope of work and required materials
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment
- Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and ensure timely delivery of materials
- Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Prepare and submit bids and proposals to clients in a timely manner
- Maintain a database of supplier and subcontractor pricing to streamline the estimating process
- Provide support to project managers during the construction phase, as needed
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mechanical Estimator in the Building Services/construction industry
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and components
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
