Quantity Surveyor (Assistant to Senior Level) Dry Lining & Interiors Contractor
Location: Telford, Shropshire

Our clientis a well-established and growing interiors contractor based in Telford, specialising in dry lining, partitioning systems, suspended ceilings, and associated fit‑out works. With a strong reputation for delivering high‑quality finishes across commercial, residential, education, and healthcare sectors, they partner with a wide range of Tier 1 and regional main contractors.
Our projects typically range from £200k to £3m in value, and we pride ourselves on delivering to high standards, on time, and on budget.
Due to continued growth and a strong order book across the Midlands and wider UK regions, we are now seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor either at Assistant, Intermediate or Senior level to join our commercial team.
Role Overview:
You will play a key role in managing the commercial and financial aspects of multiple live dry lining, ceiling, and partitioning packages. Reporting to the Commercial Manager/Director, this role offers the chance to be involved from procurement and tender stage through to final account on some of the most exciting interior fit‑out projects in the region.
We\’re open to candidates who are looking to take the next step in their QS career, or experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors with a strong background in dry lining and specialist sub‑contracting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and submission of valuations and variations
- Accurate cost reporting and forecasting for multiple live projects
- Procurement and management of sub‑contract packages
- Liaising closely with site managers, contracts managers and clients
- Site visits and progress reviews as required
- Measuring works from drawings and on‑site surveys
- Preparing CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations) and monthly reports
- Settling final accounts
- Attending client meetings and resolving commercial queries
- Supporting tenders and estimating where required
- Ensuring commercial risk is managed and mitigated throughout the project lifecycle
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience working with a dry lining, ceilings or interiors sub‑contractorli>
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control ability
- Good knowledge of SMM7/NRM and standard forms of contract (JCT)
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Self‑motivated, organised and able to manage multiple tasks
- Full UK driving licence
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
- Experience in commercial interiors or fit‑out sectors
- Proficiency in measurement software (Bluebeam, CostX, etc.)
- Comfortable mentoring junior staff (for Senior applicants)
