Company Overview
This is an opportunity to join a fast-growing, privately-owned groundworks and civil engineering contractor in the East Midlands.
Established for just over 6years, the business currently employs around 40 operatives and has a strong secured pipeline for 2026. Projects typically include:
Care homes
Industrial units / warehouses
Associated infrastructure and external works
The business is now looking for an experienced Contracts Manager who can help take the company to the next level and form part of the senior operational team.
Role Overview
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing multiple groundworks and civil engineering packages, working across both site and office environments.
This role requires a rare combination of strong groundworks knowledge PLUS strong IT / systems competency.
You will be involved in:
Overseeing multiple sites and site teams
Attending pre-start and progress meetings
Programming works using Microsoft Project
Producing RAMS and supporting documentation
Co-ordinating road applications and permits
Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings
Managing sub-contractors and suppliers
Working closely with Directors and Clients
Handover and completion of packages
Using Dropbox / OneDrive to manage documents and drawings
This is a hands-on and varied role requiring excellent organisation, communication and leadership skills.
Proven experience as a Contracts Manager / Project Manager within groundworks & civil engineering
Strong understanding of:
Drainage
Foundations
External works
SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
Ability to prepare:
RAMS
Weekly / Monthly programmes
Microsoft Project
Dropbox or OneDrive
Reading & managing construction drawings
Based in or willing to cover:
Northants / Leicestershire / East Midlands
Valid driving licence
A mixed background across residential, care homes and industrial builds is highly desirable.
