Location: Various project sites across the Midlands

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Engineer to join our client. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing commercial groundworks packages and ensuring that all work is completed in accordance with the project plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate on-site activities, including sub-contractors, materials, and equipment, to ensure the project is completed on time and within budget.
  • Setting out and checking work on-site.
  • Conduct regular QA inspections to ensure that all work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager / Agent and design team to review and interpret project plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team, including sub-contractors and site staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies on site.
  • Keep accurate records of all site activities, including daily progress reports, site diaries, and site instructions.
  • Attend site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns or issues.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising on quality.
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineers and site staff as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Site Engineer in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Excellent management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various project sites across the Midlands.
