A Senior Project Designer of either a Revit or Tekla background is required by my Client in Birmingham. This role is working within a department which undertakes the design of SFS and hot-rolled structural steel works for an extensive range of projects. The ideal Candidate will be proficient in Tekla or Revit and have a solid understanding of structural steelwork; especially of a hot-rolled nature.

This role will be utilising the Tekla software however, Tekla is not essential to the appointment for therole if the knowledge and understanding of structural steelwork and hot-rolled design is evidenced. Tekla training can be provided for the right individual.

KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Develop detailed design plans, sketches, drawings, or prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software and tools using 2D and 3D CAD (AutoCAD, Tekla Structures (training can be provided on Tekla if required), and the ability to handle data appropriate to your role.
  • Project management skills, maintain communication with clients to update them on project progress, gather feedback, and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to create accurate 3D models for call-offs.
  • Ensure that design work meets industry standards, regulations, and quality expectations.
  • Work within budget constraints and provide cost-effective design solutions.
  • Key attention to detail and precision in design work..
  • Able to read architectural and engineering drawings and create accurate 3D Project models.
  • Keeping project documents up to date.
  • Possess 2+ years of knowledge of LGSF load-bearing structures or equivalent, with a proven track record of delivering LGSF projects on time and in full.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the construction industry and modern building practices, including product knowledge of Light Gauge Steel Frame systems, hot-rolled steel structures, portal frames, concrete construction, and glazing systems.
  • Assisting the site installation team in the installation of panels on site.

Desirable

  • Hold a full Driving License
  • Experience in using Revit is desirable but not essential.
  • Practical experience in the design, manufacture, or delivery of Light Gauge Steel Frame (LGSF) systems, or comparable Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) solutions.
