Fantastic opportunity for a recently graduated Civil Engineer to join an expanding Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy in Birmingham who provides innovative and sustainable solutions for a wide range of projects, from residential and commercial buildings to infrastructure and industrial facilities.
The ideal candidate will have approximately 1 year of experience in the design of infrastructure related projects consisting of highways, drainage, earthworks and have current working knowledge of the use of Civils 3D, CAD and drainage design software.
As a Graduate Civil Engineer you will be able to undertake infrastructure design work and coordinate with third parties such as clients, contractors and local authorities.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake design for infrastructure projects, including 3D surface modelling and hydraulic drainage design.
- Represent SBK at client, contractor and local authority meetings.
- Knowledge of design and approvals for S278 and S38 highway schemes with design capability when supervised by senior staff.
- Knowledge of design and approvals of S104, S106 and S185 drainage schemes, including awareness of current drainage legislation and sustainable drainage practice.
- Knowledge and awareness of the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments.
- Knowledge of working with Civils 3D, AutoCAD and drainage modelling software such as FLOW or Microdrainage.
