Our clienthas an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their busy and vibrant operations team.
This is a full time & permanent position. The successful candidate will be based at head office in Nottingham with regular site visits.
Theyhave vast experience in building high quality projects in challenging circumstances and through high commitment and talent are able to unlock and deliver large scale complex construction projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose: To provide quantity surveying support under the direction of the Quantity Surveyor in respect of the commercial and surveying aspects, new build, refurb and design and build projects.
To assist the Quantity Surveyor to carry out quantity surveying duties in conjunction with other team members and provide effective financial and contractual control on all contracts allocated.
Responsibilities: To assist the Quantity Surveyor with all of his following duties as directed by him.
- To provide comprehensive financial and surveying related information as required by Senior Management
- To measure the works for payment and final account purposes. Record of dimensions to be kept
- Preparation and submission of valuations and final accounts
- Record and agree of extra works and day works
- Record all relevant events for delay and loss and expense claims
- Monitor and ensure that full payment is received for all work claimed and certified
- Measurement, certification and agreement of subcontractor accounts
- Assist site management in provision of statistics and other surveying related information for Client meetings
- Liaise with client representatives and other members of the team to ensure effective communications and a cohesive working environment
- Provide support to operations staff on surveying matters
- Provide estimating department with statistical information for new rates
- Keep up to date with new technology and legislation as appropriate
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Holds the relevant qualifications to Degree level
- Experience within a similar role
- Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel
- Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally
- Must be an excellent organiser with proven time management skills
