MEP Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & Electrical Projects

I’m working with a growing and well-established M&E contractor who deliver mechanical and electrical projects across a variety of sectors throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects from tender stage through to final account. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a close-knit business where you will work closely with the director while being given autonomy to manage your own projects and commercial responsibilities. The role will involve regular travel to project sites nationwide, so the successful candidate must be comfortable working across both office and site environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage M&E projects from tender stage through to final account
- Price incoming works and prepare detailed cost estimates
- Manage subcontract procurement and commercial packages
- Prepare valuations, cost reports, and cashflow forecasts
- Manage variations, compensation events, and contractual matters
- Attend site visits and client meetings across the UK
- Monitor project profitability and identify commercial risks/opportunities
- Prepare and agree interim applications and final accounts
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
- Support ongoing improvements to commercial processes and procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor or Mechanical/Electrical QS
- Strong understanding of cradle-to-grave commercial management
- Experience working on M&E projects for contractors
- Ability to manage projects independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable travelling regularly to sites nationwide
- Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts beneficial
- Full UK driving licence required
