Role Summary
The Technical Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of mechanical operatives across multiple projects to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, on time and within budget. The role provides technical leadership to engineers and operatives while ensuring compliance with company standards, statutory regulations and health & safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Operational Supervision
- Supervise direct labour and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered efficiently, safely and in accordance with project requirements.
- Coordinate the use of plant, equipment and labour resources across contracts.
- Ensure all works are completed to the required technical standards, within agreed timeframes and budgets.
- Maintain awareness of the location and status of all operatives and subcontractors across active sites.
- Project Delivery
- Carry out inspections of works in progress and completed installations to ensure quality and compliance.
- Identify, schedule and monitor additional or remedial works where required.
- Monitor performance of operatives and subcontractors across assigned contracts.
- Conduct site surveys and prepare technical reports where required.
- Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance and support to engineers, apprentices and site teams on mechanical installation works.
- Ensure best practice standards are maintained across mechanical installations including plumbing, heating, ventilation, gas systems, air conditioning and ASHP installations.
- Act as a key technical point of contact between site teams and Project Managers.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act and industry regulations.
- Ensure adherence to statutory obligations including Gas Safety Regulations and other sector-specific requirements.
- Monitor quality standards, health & safety compliance and performance targets across projects.
- Communication & Reporting
- Act as the liaison between field operatives and Project Managers to ensure issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
- Provide regular updates to Project Managers on project progress, potential delays and resource requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation relating to works, inspections and compliance.
- General Responsibilities
- Maintain professional standards and represent the company positively with clients and the public.
- Undertake any additional duties reasonably required to support the successful delivery of projects.

- Extensive knowledge and practical experience of mechanical installation works including:
- Commercial plumbing
- Heating and ventilation systems
- Gas systems
- Air conditioning systems
- Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP)
Essential Qualifications & Skills
- Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications including: COCN1 or CODNCO1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1A
- Mechanical City & Guilds NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Valid CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Asbestos Awareness Certification
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £60,000 per annum
- 21 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays (increasing by 1 additional day every 2 years up to a maximum of 25 days)

Additional Information
- Probationary Period: 3 months
- Working Hours: 45 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 5:00pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
