The Role
- Take commercial ownership of mechanical and electrical packages, typically valued up to circa £10m
- Manage and control the commercial aspects of defined M&E scopes of work
- Carry out full construction take-offs and prepare detailed cost plans
- Produce fully priced bills of quantities including labour hours and material costs
- Measure from drawings and isometrics in line with NRM2 requirements and procedures
- Track project costs, labour spend, and labour efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
- Monitor project hours spent versus earned schedules
- Produce monthly cash flow forecasts
- Prepare assessments, payment certificates, and pay-less notices for subcontractors in line with the Construction Act
- Manage the timing and agreement of monthly valuations and certifications
- Prepare subcontract procurement packages and agree subcontract terms
- Manage subcontractors commercially through to final account
- Ensure final accounts are agreed within agreed project timelines
- Present take-offs and commercial data in a clear and coherent format
- Act as a proactive team player with a professional and diligent approach

The Ideal Candidate
- Proven experience in an M&E Quantity Surveying role
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages (circa £10m advantageous)
- Detailed knowledge of Quantity Surveying principles and practices
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to maximise value and control costs
- Sound understanding of subcontract procurement and monthly commercial cycles
- Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems
- Actively working towards or interested in developing relevant RICS competencies
- Proactive attitude to learning and continuous improvement
