Salary: £95,000 - £100,000 Per Annum + Competitive Package

The Role

  • Take commercial ownership of mechanical and electrical packages, typically valued up to circa £10m
  • Manage and control the commercial aspects of defined M&E scopes of work
  • Carry out full construction take-offs and prepare detailed cost plans
  • Produce fully priced bills of quantities including labour hours and material costs
  • Measure from drawings and isometrics in line with NRM2 requirements and procedures
  • Track project costs, labour spend, and labour efficiency throughout the project lifecycle
  • Monitor project hours spent versus earned schedules
  • Produce monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare assessments, payment certificates, and pay-less notices for subcontractors in line with the Construction Act
  • Manage the timing and agreement of monthly valuations and certifications
  • Prepare subcontract procurement packages and agree subcontract terms
  • Manage subcontractors commercially through to final account
  • Ensure final accounts are agreed within agreed project timelines
  • Present take-offs and commercial data in a clear and coherent format
  • Act as a proactive team player with a professional and diligent approach

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical packages (circa £10m advantageous)
  • Detailed knowledge of Quantity Surveying principles and practices
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to maximise value and control costs
  • Sound understanding of subcontract procurement and monthly commercial cycles
  • Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems
  • Actively working towards or interested in developing relevant RICS competencies
  • Proactive attitude to learning and continuous improvement
