Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate and competitive mechanical estimates for commercial design & build projects.
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors to capture full project requirements.
  • Produce detailed costings, bills of quantities, and tender submissions.
  • Assess contract variations, design changes, and site-related cost implications.
  • Support bid submissions and tender presentations.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, cost reports, and documentation for audit and project tracking purposes.

  • Based in the Essex area with projects across industrial, commercial, and domestic sectors.
  • Specialists in design & build mechanical and public health services.
  • Expertise includes HVAC systems, plumbing, BMS integration, full mechanical/public health drawings, LTA submittals, and CAT A & CAT B fit-outs.
  • This hire is due to continued company growth and expanding project demand.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Strong Mechanical Estimating experience within design & build projects.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and building services systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Proficient in preparing detailed costings, bills of quantities, and tender submissions.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, budgeting, and value engineering.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with UK construction regulations and mechanical engineering standards.
  • Experience with CAT A & CAT B fit-outs highly advantageous.
