The Role:

  • Preparing accurate cost estimates for mechanical building services projects.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation to determine project scope.
  • Producing detailed take-offs for HVAC, plumbing and mechanical systems.
  • Preparing competitive tender submissions and supporting documentation.
  • Working closely with Directors, Project Managers and Clients throughout the pre-construction phase.
  • Identifying value engineering opportunities and potential project risks.
  • Managing multiple tenders whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Working on projects with values up to £2m.
  • Full-time office-based role.
  • Working hours of 08:00 – 16:30.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Will have 3+ years' experience working as a Mechanical Estimator.
  • Strong mechanical bias with experience in HVAC, plumbing and building services projects.
  • M&E Estimators will also be considered.
  • Will have experience pricing projects up to £2m in value.
  • Will be able to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Will have strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software.
  • Will work well under pressure and be capable of managing multiple tenders simultaneously.
  • Will have excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Will be happy working in a full-time office-based environment.
