Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager
Location: Peterborough
Salary: £60,000 per annum + package
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

  • Manage the full lifecycle of mechanical works across multiple new build projects (£500k-£3m)
  • Oversee planning, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems
  • Deliver heating, hot & cold water, ventilation, and renewable technologies (heat pumps, UFH)
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, quality, and design standards
  • Coordinate subcontractors and internal delivery teams
  • Manage project budgets, procurement, and resource planning
  • Produce project documentation, progress reports, and O&M manuals
  • Chair site meetings and technical reviews
  • Enforce internal processes (Price Worx) and approve invoices weekly
  • Provide weekly progress reports to the Contracts Manager
  • Proactively problem‑solve to keep projects on programme

The Ideal Candidate

  • Minimum 5 years\’ experience managing mechanical services on new build projects
  • Strong technical knowledge of heating, ventilation, water systems, and renewables
  • Confident reading drawings and managing installations on site
  • Knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM, and industry standards (CIBSE, BESA)
  • Experience working under JCT and Design & Build contracts
  • Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
