Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Construction)
Location: Cambridge
The Role
- Manage and control the commercial aspects of projects
- Provide accurate financial reporting on individual projects
- Collate, review and report financially on other projects within remit
- Supervise, support and advise direct reports
- Place subcontracts in line with main contract and company policies
- Advise project surveyors on opportunities to maximise value and minimise costs
- Monitor subcontractors against programme and provide support on problem areas
- Ensure consistent and accurate forecasting
- Implement and oversee commercial systems and procedures
- Contribute to risk management and advise on effective mitigation strategies
- Promote effective communication and team collaboration
- Manage performance of direct reports, setting objectives and supporting development
- Input into site activities where appropriate

The Ideal Candidate
- BSc or HND in Quantity Surveying or related subject
- Significant commercial experience with a contracting organisation
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and monthly measurement cycles
- Understanding of suppliers’ businesses and local market knowledge
- Strong organisational, planning and time management skills
- Sound knowledge of the construction industry, standards and specifications
- Excellent negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
