The Role:

  • Design electrical systems for CAT A & CAT B office fit-out projects
  • Produce detailed design drawings including lighting, small power, containment, distribution, and specialist systems
  • Support Preconstruction, Contracts, and Project Managers throughout the design process (RIBA Stage 3–4)
  • Develop and coordinate Stage 4 technical designs through to construction issue
  • Carry out load calculations, cable sizing, and equipment selection in line with regulations
  • Prepare technical specifications, design documentation, and reports
  • Manage Contractor Design Portion (CDP) packages and coordinate specialist subcontractor designs
  • Attend design and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Support value engineering exercises to improve cost efficiency without compromising quality
  • Ensure all designs comply with BS 7671 and relevant British Standards

  • 3–5 years’ experience as an Electrical Design Engineer (building services / contracting background)
  • Strong understanding of commercial electrical design and systems
  • Experience working on projects up to £3m–£5m
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations)
  • Experience working within a D&B environment and coordinating with delivery teams
