A well-established mechanical services contractor is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Bromsgrove office. This role focuses on delivering full mechanical building services design across commercial fit-out projects, from concept through to detailed working drawings. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded designer looking to take ownership of projects and play a key role within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver full lifecycle mechanical design from concept through to construction stage
- Produce detailed drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Carry out design calculations across LTHW, CHW, ventilation, AC, ductwork, and pipework systems
- Utilise software such as Hevacomp and TAS for modelling and calculations
- Review specifications, drawings, and project requirements
- Liaise with project managers, site teams, and clients to ensure design coordination
- Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards
- Manage workload independently and meet project deadlines
Candidate Requirements:
- Proven experience in mechanical building services design
- Strong background in commercial fit-out projects (preferred)
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience using Hevacomp and TAS
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- HNC/HND or Degree qualified in a relevant discipline
