Villiers Hotel is a spectacular 18th Century 49-bedroom hotel situated in the heart of the historic market town of Buckingham. Villiers has undergone a major refurbishment to all front of house areas and The Old Town Hall which provides all the meeting, serviced offices and function space.
We are currently looking for a full-time Sales Manager (40 hpw, £32,000 pa). Days of week to be worked will coincide with the needs of the business and will include occasional evening and weekend work.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for hospitality, sales and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales & Business Development
- Proactively generate and convert enquiries for conferences, meetings, weddings, banquets, wakes and social events.
- Conduct site inspections and client show rounds, tailoring proposals to individual client needs.
- Prepare and present detailed quotations, contracts and function sheets.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and revenue budgets.
- Identify new business opportunities through networking, partnerships and local market activity.
- Upsell hotel services including accommodation, food & beverage and AV.
- Event Planning & Co-ordination
- Act as the main point of contact for clients from initial enquiry to post-event follow-up.
- Liaise closely with internal departments including operations, kitchen, front office and housekeeping to ensure seamless delivery.
- Coordinate event details such as room layouts, menus, timings, technical requirements and special requests.
- Ensure all event documentation is accurate and communicated in a timely manner.
- Attend key events where required to oversee smooth execution.
- Weddings & Special Events
- Manage wedding enquiries and bookings in line with hotel packages and bespoke offerings.
- Build initial strong relationships with couples and families, providing a personalised and sensitive service until 1-3 months before the event, where handover to On the Day Operational Team is completed with the couples & family.
- Coordinate wedding details in line with legal requirements and hotel standards.
- Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate records on the hotel’s CRM and event management systems.
- Produce weekly and monthly sales reports as required.
- Ensure all contracts, deposits and payment schedules are managed correctly.
- Comply with GDPR, health & safety and licensing requirements.
- Customer Service & Reputation
- Deliver a high standard of customer care at all times.
- Handle client feedback professionally and resolve issues promptly.
- Support positive online reviews and repeat business through excellent service.
