Job Purpose: You will provide preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs on plant machinery within the required timescales. You will operate to the highest health & safety standards and strive to improve plant performance and efficiency. This key role is to support for the PCM casting cell and the technical engineering departments, and to support the site wide engineering functions when necessary.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Adhering to Health & Safety / Environmental requirements in line with Company Procedures, Legislative requirements, LOTO and ‘Permit to Work’ procedures.
  • Mould change support on all PCM machines to be carried out with precision and detail.
  • Work in various aspects of the plant on mechanical improvements.
  • To be able to support the plant in equipment breakdowns.
  • To support within technical & engineering functions around the plant.
  • Contributing to Plant Engineering projects when required.
  • Ensuring all engineering interventions meet the required standards in line with best practice.
  • Completing on site TPM system to ensure all jobs are logged for sufficient job history.
  • To support the casting shop on various casting and mechanical issues.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Mechanical qualification is useful but not essential.
  • Pipefitting & welding skills.
  • Knowledge of production, Engineering and Technology processes in the spirit of Continuous Improvement.
  • Analytical thinking, applying sound judgement and able to prioritise tasks in order of priority.
  • Problem solver able to assess performance against key measures.
  • Self-motivated and determined to succeed.
  • Able to communicate at all levels.
  • Flexible working, additional hours when required.
