Reporting into a Warehouse Shift Manager/Senior Supervisor, you must be results-driven and focused on the successful completion of all operational activities in line with the Shift Managers requirements. Training and objective setting for your reporting team will be crucial within this challenging role, as we look to meet monthly and annual operational targets, whilst providing effective 360-degree communication skills, and competent problem-solving capabilities.
The successful candidate will be required to forward plan labour and equipment requirements in their area of control, whilst promoting strong leadership skills to achieve compliance and continual improvements associated with H&S, company procedures, performance optimisation, and accurate WMS (SAP) management. Flexibility to manage across multiple activity areas is a must!
Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Shift Supervisor:- Ownership of selected activity area, e.g., Picking and dispatch etc.
- Performance monitoring of all reports
- Forward plan and balance labour and equipment against operational plans to meet the shifts productivity targets. This includes monthly set goods issue targets, and availability associated to efficient put away requirements.
- Provide support and consult with other areas/leaders, to facilitate the integration of activities to maximise productivity and react to any issues on the shift.
- Promote, educate, maintain and where necessary improve standards of H&S, 5S housekeeping and organisation of the complete area of responsibility.
- Identify potential process improvement and where appropriate lead project/s for implementation.
- Provide support to operators and less experienced technical staff in resolving problems and issues related to standard operating procedures.
- Lead, develop and motivate operatives to ensure they can deliver targets and goals.
- Effective communication to all associated stakeholders, to adopt a ‘closed loop’ feedback culture for all projects or queries.
- Ability to operate and process provided warehouse management system (SAP), in an accurate and timely manner.
