This is a 12-month position in which the student will work 20 hours per week in the Tax Clinic while studying for the LLM in the Graduate Tax Program.

Position Summary:

This position requires clinic work and class enrollment in the fall ’26, spring ’27, and summer ’27 terms in the Graduate Tax Program. Under the close supervision of the Clinic Director, the Graduate Tax Assistant will represent taxpayers in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, and cases before the United States Tax Court, District Courts, and Courts of Appeals. The selected candidate will also participate in community outreach projects, assist J.D. students with clinical duties, and engage in professional development opportunities at the discretion of the Clinic Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent taxpayers in controversies with the Internal Revenue Service and state departments, and in cases before federal and state courts as applicable.
  • Participate in community outreach projects.
  • Assist J.D. students with clinical duties.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities as directed by the Clinic Director.

Requirements:

This position requires a 12-month commitment and related program participation as part of duties.

Wage Rate: $1107 per bi-weekly pay (total of $28,782 for the year)
